Research question
Which compounds do the Hedyotis species growing in Vietnam contain, and which species have never been studied?
Dozens of Hedyotis species grow in Vietnam, and many have never been studied chemically. Từ Đức Dũng collected samples in the field, had them identified by pharmacist Phan Đức Bình, photographed the voucher specimens himself, and brought them to the Department of Organic Chemistry, University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City, for extraction.
The work was published in 2013 in Natural Product Communications, with Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Kim Phi Phụng’s group.
